The Chinese government says about 60,000 people have been infected with the new influenza so far and about 30 have died since October 4th.
The health ministry says the number of H1N1 patients in China has nearly tripled from a month ago.
The Chinese government already has 40 million doses of domestically produced flu vaccine and has started vaccinations, mainly in urban areas.
The city of Shanghai began its vaccination program this week. Elementary school children were given their injections by nurses.
To prepare for the winter, the Chinese government is ready to expand vaccine production and is urging the public to take preventive measures.
