Lets discuss the Pokemon franchise that captured our young minds years ago.

This is just an exert from a previous topic to go on. We can alos discuss other things.

The anime isn't that bad. It's just that ever since the Jouto season every region has 2-3 sub-seasons for a whole Gym and region adventure. We are currently in the 5th season of the series.

Kantou - 1 season and 1 movie
Orange Islands - 1 season and 1 movie
Jouto - 1 season set into 2 sub-seasons and 4 movies
Houen - 1 season set into 2 sub-seasons and 2 movies
Sinouh - 1 season and is now in its 2nd sub-season about to move into it's 3rd sub-season and it has almost 4 movies.

If they would just shorten the seasons somewhat and stop with some of the pointless fillers it would be much more enjoyable. If anything at all they need to finally end the series for heaven's sake.

Make Satoshi-tachi have one last journey, bring back Kasumi, finally give Satoshi a girlfriend, same for Takeshi, present Satoshi's dad for the love of god....we've gone almost 11 years of this stuff and we've never seen his pop's once. Have him return to the Kantou region to re-enter the Kantou league. Have him win, beat the Elite 4 and all of his rivals, make him a Pokemon Master and then close it out with a glimps at the possible future where he and undetermined wife are raising their own kid who also has a dream of becoming a Pokemon Master.

Of course....this seems like it'll be a bit longer. Just how many more ideas do they have for different Pokemon? A lot of the newer ones are just rehashed concepts of current ones. It all needs to end someday. Though for some reason the anime does seem to be hitting in the area of its final legs which means we might actually get a conclusion soon within the next year or so.This is just an exert

About the Pokemon Anime, I just feel that the story is a bit repetitive and lack of some variety. Some of my friends are Pokemon fans or ex fans and they are tired of Ash Ketchum.

If they could have a Tv series like the Manga. Things could be more interesting.

Well the series is repetative a lot. But it's not Satoshi's fault. the anime actually came out before the different manga's did. None of the manga's are cannon series anyway as each one is different, has different art styles, different writers, etc.

The anime is the only one that's always current and continuous. I do have a small feeling that this may be the last journey region. Satoshi might be returning to Kantou real soon.

In the anime at the moment, Satoshi (Ash for those who don't know his Japanese name) already has 7 badges and is close to getting his 8th. Hikari (Dawn in English) already has 4 ribbons and is close to getting her 5th and final one.

She would have it already if Manmoo didn't go berzerk when she fought Kojirou (James) who was impersinating Musashi's (Jessie) made up character, Candy Mussalina in the tournament.

I agree it's irritating to see the same thing repeated over and over again. I'm sure they have lost alot of fans because of that, including myself. I think they need Ash to either,

1. finish getting the badges and defeat the elite four, and get married
2. dies in some hair brained battle that the creator makes

that way a new person can come in or this could end the series

Not just Ash Ketchum, even Team Rocket trio has got to get a life too.

In reality, the games regions are either based on current existing regions in Japan or ones that used to exist. There are about 4-5 total though I'm not 100% sure.

It's not really the regions and the journey that ruin the show or even Satoshi and co but the constant use of recycled Pokemon. It's been going on for almost 11 years now and a lot of the voice actors for the series in Japan have left but the main core ones are still there. The oldest ones are Satoshi's, Takeshi's, Pikachu's and Rocket gangs VA's.

I do suspect though that we are now near the endgame of the anime. They are starting to get way to repetitive with the Pokemon and the anime story line so this may actually be the last one.

I just hope it goes out with some class.

The season I liked best was th first one. I didn`t like jhoto. The rest of the seasons were ok.

I think they should start afresh...

The only thing that has the Pokemon franchises alive is the games, otherwise it would have just faded just like any other fad.

One side of my mind says 'yes! start fresh, start fresh'. The other side doesn't want it to go.

Team Rocket's obviously there for comic relief only, but sometimes I wish there'd be a 5-part saga where they get hold of Pikachu.

James is awesome =D so is Brock, and I have a couple of pokemon I like too (skitty, cyndaquil, giratina)

True but after like over 10s of seasons of Ash Ketchum. I think this might affect the whole franchise.

So far the games are keeping the Pokemon franchise alive but the anime might be its downfall.

Just a ridiculous thought, I wonder if Pokemon can be adapted into a live action movie but with a the right director and right script?

I really havn't seen it much as it hasn't really interested me.

Well that's exactly. If I was the writer of the anime I could make the anime eventually come to an end.

And then fallow one, two years before they make a new story.

But what does anyone think of the idea of a live action Pokemon movie if done well.

It's quite possible. they would need to do a lot of background checking and make the monsters look much more realistic than just crappy cgi anime rip offs. Make Lizardon (Charizard) look like a more ferocious fire breathing dragon than it's anime counterpart would be a nice step.

It appears now the only thing that's keeping it alive is the games.

I think they eventually will have to end the anime series. Even long time fans like me are getting bored with seeing Ash.

hmm true it could be awesome if they could show a character every episodes ..
